The tongue sometimes tells a story…
When you go for a party or an outing and you see people’s tongue blue, it is likely a pointer that drinks are laced with Rohypnol.
Rohypnol is a tranquilizer ( drug used to relieve tension and anxiety) which is 10 times more potent than valium.
It some countries it is used as a sleeping pill.
Rohypnol also is abused as a recreational, or “club” drug, often in conjunction with alcohol to provide a high.
It is used in various forms including; crushing the pills and snorting the powder, sprinkling it on weed and smoking it, dissolving it in a drink or injecting it.
It is called in the streets; roofies, date rape, forget me pill amongst other names.
When drinks are laced with Rohypnol, the person who drinks it may not know as it is odourless and tasteless and because it is a strong sedative and also associated with amnesia the victim will not remember what happened, little wonder it is called forget me pill.
It is one of the commonest cause of surprise pregnancies in young people, especially when the only thing they can remember was that they went to a party or visited someone.
Choose your friends wisely and shine your eyes.
Drugs do not pay.
Stay away from drugs!

Anger, a ‘D’ short of Danger.
By Ovundah Nyeche
I have seen sweet people turn to incredible hulk with little or no provocation, I have seen people who their anger is like bicycle, ‘e no dey hard to start’…yeah some of them believers too.
I have seen people leave a church program in high spirit, blessed and inspired and boom minutes later fight violently with other people, for almost no reason at all…I have seen people turn red with little or no provocation.
I have seen people have their weddings called off because of misplaced outbursts of anger publicly exposed due to the planning stress. I have seen brethren turn their wives to punching and kicking bags and I have seen wives turn their husbands to punching and scratching bags.
And many time help is closer than many people think.
It is good to pray and fast, make up and make decisions to change, but when it
‘Told in Gath, Proclaimed in the streets of Ashkelon— and the daughters of the Philistines rejoice, and the daughters of the uncircumcised triumph’ that you are an atomic bomb looking for where and on whom to explode, it is vital to seek help quickly.
Fortunately help is available, as you pray and fast, it is not unscriptural to seek medical help…to seek Psychiatric help…to begin cognitive behavioral therapy and medications where necessary.
Mental health issues are not wished away, or watered down by ice cream, a new bag, a gift, a hug or make up sex, alcohol or recreational drugs.
Seek help, before you destroy important pillars in your life.

So one day in a particular hospital, I was on call and was reviewing patients, when I got a call from someone to come to another part of the hospital immediately and leave anything I was doing.
To further indicate the seriousness there were people physically present to call me.
Rushed to the place and saw someone who just slumped…my mind was working like a pentium 4, what could this be…did all the preliminaries, did all I knew in the split second, but the hands were cold and the pupils were telling a story, a story which was saying a journey has started to eternity.
I broke the sad news and minutes later relatives showed up, they were also told the sad news, amidst cries, tears and prayers.
I observed the event closely…the family members seemed the most broken…to others the corpse was just a dead body, or perhaps a dead friend or colleague or perhaps just another dead person or even a firewood. But to the relatives it was a dead family member, a benefactor, a sibling, a parent, a caregiver etc.
In days if the deceased work in a facility that needs attention, a new worker would be employed to fill the gap and life will continue as if nothing happened, whilst family and close friends mourn their loss.
In this past few days, I have seen a lot of ailments many terminal and as always, I would advise you to please take care of yourself, REST (note to self), cancel appointments if necessary, go for check up, check your blood pressure, do a full workup, see a doctor (even if you are one), take a break from stressors (including social media), detoxify your mind, see a psychiatrist, see your pastor, unload, take a retreat, vacation, eat right, run from things that would damage your body, delegate, go on leave, take life je-je, spend quality and quantity time with family etc.
This life no get duplicate, and if anything happens na your family members go suffer am…as life moves on…even if you die in any office, it is very likely the office will not end and the sun will still rise and set.
It is sad seeing people carrying bombs as BP and carrying values of check that are either too high or too low.
Take care of yourself and pause where you need to pause…it pays
Everything is not about gathering, gathering, gathering. Struggling, struggling, struggling…
May this instruct you.

Nothing just happens…
By Ovundah Nyeche.
Maybe one day we will have the courage to discuss about how our system enables fraud. I drive somewhere with my #2 car, and out of the blues someone who is impatient on the road who likely does not even own a car, shouts on top of his voice, “You no go carry this carton wey you dey drive commot for road!”
I decide to use public transport and someone I know who is in the same bus with me, frowns and shakes his head and mutters under his breath, “Chei see as doctor dey use public transport,na so e bad reach…Tufiakwa.’
I decide to walk, or ‘carmel’, and someone sees me and shakes his head…and those with courage say, ‘Na wah see all your mates wey start with you don build house finish, you still dey carmel…na wah oh, we need to pray against family curses oh.’
The boy without any traceable job, nor inherited properties, who does not come from a very wealthy family drives pass with a brand new Range Rover SUV, he also just bought a house in a posh area in town, and his name changes to master, as people scramble to get his attention. Those who dare ask how he suddenly came in contact with riches are branded haters, and to rub it on them, they are asked, “You did not ask of his source of poverty, but you wish to know the source of his wealth…bad belly.”
He throws Shekels on some members of his community and unexpectedly he is made a High Chief and given the title of Youth Ambassador and becomes the village/ community icon. In his religious setting, he is given a special chair and everything rises and falls on him…as young people pray to become like him and parents tell their children to become like him or be counted as failures.
Musicians fall over themselves as they compete on who would sing a better track to honour him and of course anyone who wins his attention is likely going to win the jackpot. When he goes for events, comedians and comperes alike shine more attention on him. Some ladies and the like use him as the SI unit of success and actually dump people in relationships with them, as bees flock around the new honey.
An online army is created to defend him at all cost, as many young people conclude that the only way to be recognized is to make money, and make big money irrespective of the source.
They see it, the man that steals a phone is given a long sentence, and the man that steals what generations cannot spend gets a good lawyer and obtains a plea bargain or runs to a remote country, buys their citizenship and is hailed as been too smart. They see that the law is so strong against the poor but so weak against the rich…and will do everything to be rich.
The young man also observes that in almost all settings, he can barely count the number of people honoured by individuals corporations, by communities, by government for showing or displaying integrity or a good work ethic, or for displaying or inculcating values.
Nothing just happens, are we ready to resuscitate values from coma or smother it to death;unfortunately you cannot drink garri, and vomit fried rice and chicken.
