See eh… It is always easy to spot other people’s specks, but overlook the log in your eyes…

This also happens in writing…

You spot other people’s mistakes, but you may not see yours…

This usually happens when you become your own editor… Or treat this process like child’s play.

*******

Many times I read books I buy, I do so with my pen and marker…

Underlining or highlighting important points or errors…

Truly speaking even many of the best written books, could have one or two grammatical errors…

But when you read a book that has grammatical errors from even the cover page to the back page… A lot of things come to your mind…

And for many people, it stops them from reading further…

*******

When I was writing my first book…

I did a little diagram… Love – – – – > Marriage – – – – – >Sex

And for reasons I don’t know when the dummy was printed it changed to

Love – – – – > Sex – – – – – > Marriage.

And this error and more were picked up by my editor, and myself during proofreading…

Publishers call it the printing error…

Just imagine rushing to publish, because I wanted to do first to finish

So many times I get a call, I even got one today…

Ovd, I want to write a book 📙, or books 📚… The manuscript is ready, which publisher do you recommend (self publishing)…

I ask about editing…

And realize for many of these, would be authors, they consider editing as an unimportant part of the process…

And after talking with them and showing them errors, they decide to calm down and do the process properly…

Many don’t even care about the ISBN… Or even check to ensure it is not fake…

One day I got books from an author and discovered that two of his books had the same ISBN…

This will be really awkward, if this book is to sell in a foreign platform…

The process determines the product…

I know a good editor, Marshal Bernard www.editgrammar.com…and many other ones..

You can get your ISBN and ask about book production process from Omolola Mary Omosebi PhD she will guide you through the process…

If you wan chop frog, chop better one.

Again what do I know?

By Grace Ngozi Onyebuolise.

A subject can be difficult but if your teacher knows how to use humor and is really good at what he or she does, learning that subject would be easy.

It is one reason I can’t forget my teacher who taught me physics in secondary school.
He could teach, he was funny and ensured we learnt each topic very well.

Real life issues and making choices can be tough. We seem to know the right decision to make but are lured to do the opposite because we find it really pleasurable and being reactive doesn’t require so much energy when compared to being proactive and getting our emotions under control.

In simple, funny, sarcastic, rhetorical but yet beautiful short stories, Doctor Ovundah Nyeche takes us through life lessons on various topics; relationship, sex matters, marriage, failure, personal development, health, character development, friendship and many more.

This book seems small but laced with beautiful short stories that leaves you smiling and telling yourself, “This word enter.”

Most stories are drawn from his personal experiences like the ones found on Pages 69 and 70 titled, Equip Yourself and More Than Papers. While some, like ‘Legend Of The Chaser’ are fictional.

Because of the size of the book, your 8year old may think it’s a book they can read but please, don’t oblige them yet. They are not yet strong to handle stories like Legend Of The Chaser. 😂😂😂😂.

This work is beautifully written. You would find yourself postponing and reading a chapter at a time because of the author’s creative writing style but please, read to the end as a repeat still feels like a first read.

My most enjoyable part of the reading was the chapter that opened my eyes to see this scripture “We know no man after the flesh” in a better and new light.

And like my picture below, the world would present many things to you that would be filled paradox , but choose to Hear Word and zoom in to read a tiny book filled with wisdom to help your life choices.

I am also proud to announce that this wonderful book got it’s creative cover from the amazing designer, Onuora Onianwa
and he can make one for you if you are writing or planning to write a book.

Book Title : Hear Word.

When I was in medical school, “Hear Word” was one phrase that was thrown around freely. In our final year class activity, a short play was done centring on “Hear Word”.

In fact, in medical school we created an “Inability to Hear Word” department and even went as far as assigning roles from Prof. Emeritus to patient on colleagues.

Hear Word is a wake-up call, a prompt meant to make you to pay attention, to listen up, to get focused and to receive sense.

I have also written many stories and articles and ended them with #hearword or #hearwordseries and this has stuck, like a stamp on an envelope.

Hear Word Wisdom for All, the first of the #hearwordseries contains short relatable stories and musings on relationship, marriage, love, sex, social media etiquette, health matters, youth matters, learning, unlearning and relearning and many more.

My editor Marshal Bernard did an awesome work, as always, get those other dishes ready Marsh. Thank you so much, Uchechi Onyeka OparaFavour Chigozirim EmmanuelIrene Ibiwāri-Íkíríkó and Anayo Merit Omasirichi for making important inputs on the manuscript.

Every illustration in the book was crafted by the one and only Uji Terkuma, thank you bro, you are a genius…

Onuora Onianwa must have been fed up with me… I did not worry him like that … He is a great graphic designer…and he did a great job…

I also want to thank everyone who helped me with the title… The content… And pushed this project financially and morally…

I also thank my wife for the encouragement with this project… and for all the sacrifice she constantly makes to allow me be all of me…

A special thanks to my entire family for their support.

We are live on https://okadabooks.com/book/about/hear_word/28177
