You see in football, people know their elders… Though there have been many exceptions, but if Brazil has a football match with a country like Panama, it would take more than a miracle for Panama to beat Brazil.
And so when Qatar (Ranked 93 in the FIFA Men’s Ranking) was billed to play four times Asian Cup winners Japan (Ranked 50) in the finals of the #AsianCup2019…
It was a case of how many goals would Qatar collect…
Also Qatar known more in the football world for winning the hosting rights of the next FIFA world cup in 2022 have no single major trophy.
The hosts of the Asian Cup 201) UAE, also seemed not to like them…
Off the field international dispute…
Semi final opponents…
No single Qatari fan in the stadium, as they were banned from entering the UAE for the tournament…
In fact their fans in this tournament, were from neighboring countries Oman and Kuwait who flew in to support Qatar; but Qatar, did the impossible beating their hostile host UAE, 4:0 in front of their own fans…
Entering the final according to pundits was more like a bonus for Qatar…
But no, “them no hear that one…”
And in the finals, they stunned Japan…
Qatar, thrashed Japan 3:1 in the finals…
To win their first major trophy ever in of all places UAE…
In other news,
Nothing just happens.
Anyone that follows sports will realize Qatar won this tournament in 2004, 15 years ago, when they founded the Aspire Academy, an elite sports academy…
Many, if not all of their players, have ties with this academy.
Qatar also has a very lenient policy on granting citizenship to athletes for sports.
Qatar will also play in the Copa America 2019 the premium South American Football Tournament as one of the 2 invitees.
