Compassion, Competence, Character; necessities for purpose
Spread the love

4TH JOINT NATIONAL CONFERENCE OF THE CHRISTIAN MEDICAL AND DENTAL ASSOCIATION (CMDA) OF NIGERIA IN ABUJA.

Excerpts from Plenary Theme Exposition 1 :  Dr Ferdinand Nweke.

Text Scripture: Philemon 1:1-7

“that the sharing of your faith may become effective by the acknowledgment of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.” – Philemon 1:6 (NKJV)

Compassion, Competence, Character are not ends in themselves, they are a means to an end. The most precious thing we have as believers is “our faith”. If our faith is the most valued and precious possession we have as Christian doctors, then it is foolishness to give our skills, our money and every other thing out except it.”

“that the sharing of your faith may become effective by the acknowledgment of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.” – Philemon 1:6 (NKJV).

Any conviction that is not shared actively has no future. Convictions must be transferred if they are to endure.
A conviction is something that holds you, you cannot be easily dissuaded about it.

Ps. 40:6-10 (NKJV)

“Sacrifice and offering You did not desire; My ears You have opened. Burnt offering and sin offering You did not require.  Then I said, “Behold, I come; In the scroll of the book it is written of me.
I delight to do Your will, O my God, And Your law is within my heart.”
I have proclaimed the good news of righteousness In the great assembly;
Indeed, I do not restrain my lips, O Lord, You Yourself know.
I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart;
I have declared Your faithfulness and Your salvation; I have not concealed Your lovingkindness and Your truth From the great assembly.”

You can see from this scripture a man who had convictions and what he did with his convictions. What are you and I doing about our convictions?

Jesus lifestyle was perfect and could change anybody but yet he still opened his mouth to preach , what about you?

Dr. Ferdinand Nweke was the Director of a medical center in a federal tertiary institution in Nigeria. He left this position to run his own private medical practice which he combined with active ministry until 2003 when he went into full-time Christian service.

He is presently the Coordinator of Eternity Ministries and Director of the ministry’s training arm, Truth Institute, whose flagship training program, School of Divine Priorities equips leaders to lead and minister for divine agenda. He is committed to training, leadership development, truth multiplication and networking with other ministries and Missions organizations for a global harvest of souls, especially among unreached peoples.

He has written several books, including “The Understanding Life Study Course”,“Where Angels Make Mistakes”, “Burning Love”, “Overflowing Grace”, “Divine Protocols” and “Marketplace Ministry”.

His personal life motto is, A journey in an infinite God can have no limits.
