From the Honourable Commissioner’s Desk…
On Behalf of His Excellency Nyesom Ezenwo Wike CON, GSSRS, POS (Africa), Governor of Rivers State, the State Ministry of Health felicitates with the entire doctors in Rivers State and the Nigerian Medical Association, Rivers State Chapter on her Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference which marks the end of yet another successful tenure for the executives of the State NMA Council.
Indeed, our partnership in moving health development to an enviable standard has been excellent as well as examplary. We are delighted with the great achievement recorded in the health care sector by His Excellency the Governor of Rivers State in this administration, which includes: the upgrade and equipping of the Braithwaite Memorial Specialist Hospital to a teaching hospital setting; the establishment of zonal hospitals, the upgrade and renovation of abandoned secondary health care facilities, establishment of a mother and child hospital; building of more model primary health care facilities, provision of grants for residency training and the building and equipping of doctors quarters to mention but a few.
These among other health care developmental strides are emphatic quality projects which we believe will take health care service delivery to a enviable heights comparable to best standards internationally.
We join all doctors resident in the State to celebrate at this years’ annual general meeting as we wish the in coming NMA executives the very best in piloting the affairs of the State Branch.
We assure you of His Excellency’s commitment in partnering with NMA and all relevant stakeholders to improve the indices of health care delivery in the State.
