YOU DO NOT TRAP AN ANIMAL BY USING YOURSELF AS A BAIT!
Spread the love

The people of the community came out in their number to welcome the Governor who came to thank them for the part they played for his success in the gubernatorial election that brought him into power.

They had a lot of requests, but chief of their problems was the road linking them to the city. The road was so bad that farmers usually had to consume their farm produces, sell them at ridiculously low prices or dispose them when they got bad; as the cost of transporting these produces to the city was very expensive coupled with the terrible road. The road brought untold hardship to the people of the community.

During the Governor’s speech, he announced that he would rehabilitate the bad road before the end of the year, just as he promised them before the elections. When completed the road would cause a turnaround in the fortunes of the community and bring development and prosperity to her.

On hearing the Governor’s promise, Blocked Ears Construction Company (BECC) rushed to the road construction site with all her equipment and started rehabilitation of the road. At the construction site were piles of granite, sand and bags of cement all brought by her. BECC was yet to bid for the contract which was not yet thrown open, but did all this from her coffers with the expectation that the Governor would see her zeal and fervour and award the contract to her.

For months BECC toiled using her resources for the development of the road, when there was no contract agreement between her and the State Government. Twelve months later the contract for the road rehabilitation and construction was awarded and given to Hear Word Construction Company (HWCC).

BECC was furious and out of anger and frustration took the State Government to court for not awarding the contract to her even after putting all her resources and doing all things even at her own loss to make the road motorable. The court however struck out her case and told her to pay damages to the State Government for wasting the time of the court.

In another news

Ijay has moved over to Ikay house because he promised her he will marry her.

Trishia has also rushed to Richard’s house, because he gave her an engagement ring and she has turned herself to his wife, cook and washing machine.

When will people learn…You do not trap an animal by using yourself as a bait!
